In today’s competitive job market, both students and alumni face numerous challenges as they navigate the transition from academic life to building successful professional careers.
Recognizing these challenges, the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs (OAAA) has launched the AUS Alumni Mentorship Program — a unique initiative designed to bridge the gap between education and the workplace.

I chose to join the mentoring program because it’s directly linked to my purpose of transforming people’s lives and because I deeply believe in the power and value of mentoring both to the mentor and mentee. I see mentorship as a two-way learning opportunity, where I can gain new insights from fresh perspectives while fostering personal and professional growth in others. Ultimately, I’m passionate about building relationships that contribute to the success of the next generation of leaders.

I joined the mentorship program because I strive to continuously learn and there is no better way to learn than to teach. The most difficult learning journey is that of life and experience and because AUS was a cornerstone is shaping who I am now I want to give back to the community by making this journey easier for them. Connecting with those fresh graduates was like looking at today's world through a very young and energetic lens and certainly gives you new perspectives to consider.

One of the standout moments from the Fall 2024 pilot phase was the mentorship between Alumnus Mohammad Atallah (CEN, 2019) and Celia Jeesan (CEN, 2023). Mohammad mentored Celia through a tailored growth plan, providing insights on career progression and industry-specific strategies. Just weeks after their mentorship sessions, Celia successfully secured a Technical Project Management Intern role! This success showcases the profound impact of the program, where mentorship fosters career growth and empowers students to take meaningful steps in their professional journeys.
